Quincy Senior High School’s theatre department will conclude the 2024-2025 school year with the comedic farce, Oh, Promise Me!, by Pete Williams.
Barry Hollis, a recent Princeton graduate, has just inherited his father's fortune. With the reputation as a popular playboy, Barry suddenly meets and falls in love with Gladys Vance. He persuades his Aunt Sue to invite Gladys for a visit at their estate. But before her visit an important note must be sent to Barry’s old flame, Patsie Linden, saying the relationship is over. Alas, the notes get mixed! Patsie arrives, with her mother in tow, and threatens Barry’s attorney with a breach of promise suit unless Barry marries her. Barry gets a brilliant idea! He can't marry her if he's already married. Furber, the family butler, has a quick visit from his daughter Ann. Barry convinces Ann to pretend to be his wife to get rid of Patsie quickly. Between the zany characters, improbable situations, and absurdity, audiences will be rolling!
Show dates are May 8-9-10 at 7:00 pm in the Quincy Senior High School Theatre. Tickets are priced at $10 for students and $15 for adults. Call 217-224-3774 for questions!
